Is this a separate pool just for my players?
Yes. When you subscribe to our service we set you up with a separate file space and
a unique web address. No one else knows about your pool and there are no ads.
You are limited to 125 players in addition to the Pool Manager. We will increase that number at no charge
to any reasonable limit if 125 players is not sufficient for your needs.
Yes. Just give you players you Sports Pool's web address and they can join by clicking
the Join button. You can print or email instructions we provide.
You may also specify a Join expiry date so that players may not
join after that date.
The total cost to subscribe to this pool software is $125 (Canadian or US)
plus applicable taxes for the season. That gives you access to all features. You choose if your
Sports Pool is for the NFL or NHL regular season or playoffs. If you want both NFL regular season and
playoffs you will subscribe twice and have two separate pools.
You can enter or change player picks after picks cut-off if required.
Although spreads (if you choose to use then) are automatically loaded on Wednesday
mornings, you may change spreads as you see fit. Game results are automatically loaded and the standings updated
as games complete but you can update the standings manually as well.
Moreover, you can check which players have failed to submit picks or have some picks
missing and take appropriate action. You can see who is logging in and how often, review player picks
and update the Welcome message that players see when they login.
You can also choose to turn on features such as elimination pools, over/under and more.
When you subscribe to the pool, we lead you through a series of questions to configure and create your
Sports Pool. All you need to do after that is notify your players on how to join, collect the fee from your players if you charge
for your pool and allocate the prizes as appropriate.
If you do provide prizes, we suggest you post them to the prize list and you may want to update your
Welcome message on a regular basis to keep the pool fresh.
This pool is fully automated and requires no on-going work on your part. All you have to do
is encourage your players to join online.
Yes and you have several choices. For any of NFL or NHL regular season or playoffs you can have picks
cut-off as the start time of each game plus or minus a number of minutes or hours you specify. So you could
specify picks cut-off as 5 minutes after scheduled game start time, game time itself or an hour or 24 hourse before
the start of each game. In NHL playoffs where your players choose the winners of each series, this choice is
the first game of each series in each playoff round.
For NFL regular season you have two other alternatives. These are making picks cut-off the start time of the first
weekend game plus or minus the number of minutes or hours you specify, or having a hard cut-off of Fridays at midnight.
In both these cases, Thursday games have picks cut-off as their scheduled start time.
For NHL regular season and playoffs and NFL playoffs you have an alternative of making picks cut-off as the start of the first
scheduled game plus or minus the number of minutes or hours you specify.
Yes and you can report on players who have not paid and email them as a group.
Players have a Links menu item and the link is opened in a new window. As Pool Manager you can provide
up to 5 links with a label and url.
We provide several facilities for this. You can send an email to all or a selected subset of players
in your pool and that may include only the players who have yet to pay. If a player has given you an
invalid email address you may flag that player so that until he changes his email address, every time he logs in
he will receive a message informing him of the invalid email address and he will be taken to the Update Player
Profile screen. Finally, you may put a one-time message on a player so that the next time he logs in
he will receive that message in an alert box.
When players join your pool, they are asked for a player name which is both their login and the name that will
show up in the standings. In addition, they are required to provide their full name, telephone number and email
address so that you may contact them if you wish. This data is held securely. We do not provide access
to this data from other pools or from the outside world and there is no advertising on this site. Information
provided by your players and on their activity is not sold, distributed or made available under any circumstances other
than to the pool manager and your players will not be contacted by the service provider. In the interest
of transparency, all of your pool players may view all game picks and the history of picks changes after picks cut-off time.
